St. Pete Scorer 21

Version 21 of the St. Pete Scorer program is available for user upgrade. This page will outline the new capabilities and will provide instructions on how to use the new features.

Version 21 updates St. Pete Scorer to the new 2021 – 2024 racing rules.   You may be interested in the new rule A5.3.  For a longer series you may be interested in using the new rule A5.3.  Select this new rule when you set up your class data.

A5.3.

If the notice of race or sailing instructions state that rule A5.3 will apply, rule A5.2 is changed so that, a boat that came to the starting area but did not start, did not sail the course, did not finish, retired or was disqualified shall be scored points for the finishing place one more than the number of boats that came to the starting area, and a boat that did not come to the starting area shall be scored points for the finishing place one more than the number of boats entered in the series.

We have also made a change designed to save you (the scorer) time.  You know that when a new boat shows up to race in an existing series, St. Pete Scorer forces you to re-score all races.  If there are lots of races in a series, re-scoring all the races can be very tedious.  St. Pete Scorer 21 has a new option that allows you to add the new boat to each race, give the new boat a DNC penalty and re-score all races.  What may have taken 20 minutes of tedious clicking is now possible with one click.  St. Pete Scorer 21 will automatically ask you if you wish to manually re-score races or have the program do it for you. The new screen looks like this:
